2023 is going to be the year of significant shifts when it comes to marketing your business. Here are the top 3 trends I predict we’ll see:

Less Facts, More Opinion

It doesn’t take long to find ten people talking about the same things, almost verbatim.

This year, we are headed in a direction where experience and proven results will beat out generalized advice that anyone can create. So how do you implement this in your business? Test first and then teach.

Your impact will be much more substantial when you share what you have proven true vs. what you just read online and regurgitate to your audience.

And because I know this question will come up: if you’re starting out and don’t have clients yet, use your own process, experience, results, or transformation to showcase your expertise. Ask yourself how what you’re teaching has impacted your life, and leverage that in your content.

Your opinion and your experience will differentiate you from like-minded people in your industry and help position your brand as a credible thought leader in the online space.

Revolutionizing Video Content

Simply producing video content will not be enough this year. It needs to be thoughtful and unique.

Trends are going to take a backseat to original content! People are now immune to hearing the same audio and seeing the same trend replicated repeatedly. We’re back to being busier than ever, and the entertainment value that trends provided during the pandemic is now becoming an annoyance as you scroll through platforms like Instagram and TikTok. If you want to find success in video content, you need to embrace the original content element of it to grab attention and recognition.

As I hinted above, trends aren’t entirely dead but won’t carry the same weight they used to in growing your channel. They’re no longer the guaranteed fast track to audience growth; as such, they need to take a lesser priority in your content planning.

I’d aim for 60% original video and 40% trends to start and then test from there to see what works for you.

Diversification Will Drive The Biggest Results

It is no longer viable to put all of your eggs in one basket and expect to have extreme success in your business. Looking at you IG-only people!

Organic reach is something that is becoming more challenging to come by. There is more competition online than ever, and we’re witnessing platforms becoming more volatile and unreliable. Anyone who has had their IG account hacked or been banned from TikTok for seemingly no reason knows exactly what I’m talking about.

It is anxiety-inducing to think your whole business could go up in smoke if Instagram shuts down tomorrow. Not to mention, unrelenting algorithm changes which means that what works one day could absolutely tank the next.

So how do you get around that? Spread the wealth across several outlets with my signature 3-step strategy. By focusing on pillars that work synergistically together, you’ll experience so much less stress and accelerated results.
