Social media insights can be very deceiving at fir Social media insights can be very deceiving at first glance. I was looking through the insights for each individual post and caught myself wishing for more engagement. BUT when I dug into the data, I was actually pleasantly surprised... [Swipe to slide ✌🏼 to find out why] So how do you figure out your engagement rate? An easy formula is to add up your likes+comments (could also include shared and saves), and divide by the reach of our post. You’ll then want to multiply it by 100 to get an accurate decimal place. Overall engagement rate is a good place to focus in the beginning, however, you may have different goals in different seasons and will drill down to specific types of engagement such as saves or shares vs. just likes and comments. The benchmark is typically around 1-3% but the higher the better, especially as you grow. Maintaining an elevated engagement rate as your follower count ticks up is a sign of attracting the RIGHT followers and have a healthy account. ❗️Yet another reason why vanity metrics like overall follower count doesn’t truly matter on social media❗️ Now that we have 2 weeks under out belt, I’d love to know which format you like best?
